On July 14, St. Michael's God's Fellas gathered at Goodfellas Restaurant in Garfield for another great night. Mark Hrehovcik gave a great presentation on the ApostleThomas, his doubts and questions towards Jesus. A great discussion followed with men sharing their life stories.

On Monday, June 15, the Eucharist Congress passed through our Chapel: Fr. Marek, together with Fr. Robert and Fr. Jeff, celebrated a Divine Liturgy. The procession then continued to the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Paterson, NJ.

On June 10, all the volunteers serving at the St. Michael's Food Pantry were invited to a Gratitude Brunch at the parish. Excellent food was offered to all by Mariann, Pat, and Adele and gifts were given out in thanksgiving for their ongoing service.

On April 15, clearly and faithful came together for the celebration of the 380th Anniversary of the Union of Uzhhorod. Bishop Kurt celebrated a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy with all the priests of the Eparchy of Passaic concelebrating. A special conference followed, featuring presentations by Fr. Yuriy Oros of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Trenton, NJ, and Fr. Andrew Summerson of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Whiting, IN, of the Eparchy of Parma.

On Saturday, April 4, after an all-night guarding of the tomb, parishioners gathered around the Lord's tomb to pray Jerusalem Matins led by Fr. Marek.

On Friday, April 3, after Strasti, Matins with twelve Gospels, Bishop Kurt together with Fr. Marek led the faithful in praying the Entombment Vespers and processing around the church. Afterward, faithful took turn in guarding the tomb throughout the night.

On Friday, March 13, we were welcomed by the neighboring St. Ann Melkite Catholic Church and joined them in praying an Akathist hymn to the Mother of God. Fellowship and a meal followed prayer.

On Saturday, February 21, we celebrated the Commemoration of the miracle of the Great-Martyr Theodore by sharing Kollyva during our breakfast with the pastor. Besides Kollyva and other Lenten goodies, parishioners shared spiritual reflections about the Great Fast season.

The Christopher Columbus School #8 in Garfield, led by Principal Kathleen Mazzola, held a Super Bowl Food Drive for the benefit of St Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Cathedral. More than 20 bags of food essentials were donated and humbly accepted by Pantry Coordinator, Mariann Gelenius, on Monday February 9, 2026. May God Bless the children and faculty who helped to make this food drive such a success!
